SPECIALIST DIGITAL EDUCATION
Don't just use technology. Create with it.
Digital technology is changing almost every career, every industry and every subject. Artificial Intelligence, data, cyber security, immersive technology and digital content are transforming how businesses operate, how scientists make discoveries, how historians investigate the past and how creative industries reach audiences.
At BOA Digital Sixth Form, digital isn't an extra. It's our specialism.
That means giving you access to the technology, industry-standard software, specialist teaching and employer experiences that allow you to take what you learn in the classroom and do something with it.
Because the difference between knowing about the digital world and being ready to succeed in it is experience. Technology built for your ambition.
Imagine studying somewhere where high-performance gaming PCs and specialist digital technology aren’t reserved for an occasional lesson – they’re part of the environment in which you learn.
Whether you’re coding, designing, editing, modelling, analysing data, creating digital content or developing games, you’ll have opportunities to work with industry-standard software and specialist equipment that bring your ideas to life.
Why does that matter?
Because when you progress to university, an apprenticeship or employment, we want technology to feel familiar. We want you to be able to demonstrate not simply what you know, but what you can do.
You’ll develop projects, solve problems and build a portfolio of work that can help you stand out from the crowd. Don’t just tell them you’re digital. Show them. From the classroom to the real world. The best digital education cannot happen in isolation from the industries using technology every day.
That’s why employer engagement is at the heart of our digital specialism. Through our links with industry, we want you to encounter professionals, explore real careers, respond to authentic challenges and understand how the knowledge and skills you develop are used in the workplace.
Our Sixth Form plans include industry projects, authentic employer briefs, industry speakers, masterclasses, work experience and networking opportunities – helping to bridge the gap between education and employment.
For you, that means being able to answer one of the most important questions about anything you study: “When will I ever use this?” At BOA Digital, we want you to find out.
See the world through a digital lens.
Our specialism isn’t only for students studying Computer Science, cyber security or software development. Digital runs through everything.
Take Business. Netflix began as a DVD rental company before technology helped transform its business model and the way millions of people consume entertainment. For a Business student, that raises real questions: How does technology disrupt a market? How can businesses use data to understand customers? How does innovation create competitive advantage? And what happens to businesses that fail to adapt?
Or take History. Historians can now access digitised archives, interrogate databases, explore interactive maps and bring together sources that once existed in collections hundreds or thousands of miles apart. Artificial Intelligence creates further possibilities – and new challenges around authenticity, bias, misinformation and whether we can trust what we see.
The same applies across our curriculum. A physicist can use digital tools to model complex systems. A mathematician can explore large datasets. A media student can create content using professional software. An entrepreneur can use technology to turn an idea in
Create. Experiment. Solve.
We don’t want you to be afraid of trying something that doesn’t work first time.
The digital industries depend upon people who can experiment, test, question, adapt and improve. A piece of code might fail. A design might need changing. A dataset might challenge your assumptions. An idea might need to be rebuilt completely. That’s part of learning.
At BOA Digital, you’ll be encouraged to move beyond simply consuming technology and become someone who can question it, manipulate it and create with it. You won’t just ask “How does this work?” You’ll be encouraged to ask “What could I do with it?”
Build more than qualifications. When you leave BOA Digital, we want your next destination to see more than a set of grades.
We want you to be able to talk about the software you’ve used, the projects you’ve completed, the problems you’ve solved, the employers you’ve encountered and the digital skills you’ve developed.
That combination matters whether your next step is a university course, higher or degree apprenticeship, employment or an idea of your own.
Our planned curriculum reflects that breadth, with academic, vocational and technical pathways incorporating subjects including Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Digital Systems and Data, Digital Support and Security, Creative Media Production, Digital Games Production and Esports.
Whatever you study, digital matters.
You could become a software developer using AI to build something new, an entrepreneur using data to identify an opportunity, a historian interrogating a digital archive, a physicist modelling complex systems, a games designer creating new worlds, a content creator reaching global audiences or a business leader responding to the next technological disruption.
And some of the careers our students eventually pursue may not even exist yet. That’s why specialist digital education at BOA Digital isn’t about teaching you one piece of software or today’s technology.
It’s about developing the knowledge, creativity, technical confidence and adaptability to keep learning as technology changes.
Because the future won’t just need people who can use technology. It will need people who can do something extraordinary with it.
