Sixth Form should feel different. Our dedicated Sixth Form floor creates a distinctive environment where students can study, collaborate, socialise and enjoy greater independence as they prepare for university, apprenticeships and employment. It reflects the greater freedom, responsibility and maturity of Sixth Form life, while keeping students connected to the wider BOA Digital community.
At the heart of the Sixth Form is a dedicated common room – a relaxed and welcoming space exclusively for Sixth Form students. Comfortable seating, breakout areas, access to PCs and charging points create a flexible environment for meeting friends, recharging between lessons or catching up on work. Whether starting the day with friends, using a free period productively or simply taking some time out between lessons, this is a space students can make their own.
A Sixth Form identity of its own.
Our dedicated floor gives the Sixth Form its own identity and sense of community within BOA Digital. The environment celebrates Sixth Form life, student achievements and future destinations, creating a space where students can feel proud of their progress and inspired by what comes next.
Digital displays and shared spaces bring that identity to life, showcasing student work, projects, achievements and opportunities, alongside information about universities, apprenticeships, careers and employment. The result is an environment that celebrates where students are now while constantly encouraging them to think about where they could go next.

Independent study is an important part of Sixth Form life. Dedicated computer study spaces sit alongside quieter areas for focused independent work and collaborative spaces where students can work together on assignments, projects and challenges.
Having the freedom to choose how and where to work helps students develop the organisation, independence and self-discipline needed for successful post-16 study. It also creates a more mature learning environment, giving students greater ownership of their time and preparing them for the different expectations of university, apprenticeships and the workplace.
As a specialist digital academy, technology is part of everyday Sixth Form life rather than something reserved for particular lessons. Digital screens provide access to news, opportunities, careers information and progression pathways, while also showcasing what’s happening across the Sixth Form community.
Switch off as well as switch on.
Sixth Form isn’t only about studying. Our social spaces embrace the personality of BOA Digital, with a Digital Social Zone offering opportunities for arcade and retro gaming alongside games consoles. It’s a place to relax, socialise and enjoy some friendly competition between lessons.
Alongside digital gaming, chess, board games and table games offer different ways to switch off, connect with others and spend time with friends. These shared experiences help create a genuine sense of community, bringing together students with different interests and creating opportunities to build friendships beyond the classroom.
Our gaming spaces also celebrate the evolution of digital technology, bringing together retro and contemporary gaming experiences and reflecting an industry built around technology, creativity, storytelling, design and innovation. At a specialist digital Sixth Form, even downtime reflects our passion for digital culture.
A space shaped around you.
Student voice is an important part of Sixth Form life. Students have opportunities to influence their environment, suggest activities and help shape the social life and culture of the Sixth Form. Clubs, competitions, events and shared interests give students the chance to contribute to their community rather than simply be part of it.
Sixth Form is also about finding the right balance. There are times to focus, meet deadlines and work independently, but also opportunities to step away from a screen, talk to friends and recharge. Our social spaces provide that balance – combining the independence and expectations of post-16 study with the social experiences that make Sixth Form memorable.
