BOA DIGITAL TECHNICAL PATHWAY
Turn your interest in technology into your next step.
Technology is transforming almost every industry. Artificial intelligence, cyber security, software development, data science, automation, engineering and increasingly sophisticated digital systems are changing how we live and work – and creating opportunities for people with the knowledge and skills to understand, develop and improve them.
The Digital Technical Pathway at BOA Digital is designed for students who want to go beyond simply using technology and develop a deeper understanding of how it works, how p
Depending on your chosen programme, you could study:
programming, algorithms, computational thinking and computer systems
logical reasoning, problem-solving, modelling and the mathematics behind technology
scientific thinking, engineering principles and understanding the physical world
an applied V Level exploring technology, systems and data
a substantial T Level route into cyber security, networks, infrastructure and technical support
These subjects and qualifications form the core of the proposed Digital Technical Pathway within our Sixth Form curriculum.
Choose subjects that work together
Choosing your Sixth Form programme is about more than selecting individual subjects. The right combination allows subjects to complement and strengthen each other, developing a connected set of skills that supports your ambitions beyond Sixth Form.
Computer Science and Mathematics can provide a powerful combination, developing programming, computational thinking, algorithms and mathematical reasoning.
Mathematics and Physics combine mathematical modelling with scientific thinking and problem-solving, while Computer Science can add another technical dimension.
The proposed Digital Systems and Data V Level provides a more applied way to explore how technology and data can be used to solve problems within organisations. It is currently positioned as a single A Level-equivalent qualification within our proposed curriculum.
Digital Support and Security offers a different experience. As a T Level, it becomes the main focus of your Sixth Form programme, combining substantial technical study with industry experience. Our proposed curriculum identifies the T Level as equivalent in size to three A Levels.
Build your pathway around where you want to go
You don’t need to know exactly what career you want at 16. Sixth Form is an opportunity to explore your interests, develop your strengths and begin discovering where they could take you.
The aim isn’t to lock yourself into a career at 16. It’s to begin building the knowledge, skills and experience that will give you choices at 18 and beyond.
Your choices can start opening different possibilities:
Mathematics • Computer Science • Data Science • Machine Learning
Cyber Security • Digital Infrastructure • Network Technology • Technical Support
Mathematics • Physics • Engineering • Robotics • Emerging Technology
University. Apprenticeship. Industry.
A Digital Technical pathway can lead in many directions. You might progress to university, studying subjects such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or Engineering.
You might choose a higher or degree apprenticeship, combining employment with further study in areas such as software, cyber security, data, engineering or digital technology.
Or your pathway could ultimately lead towards specialist employment and further professional training within the technology sector.
And digital skills aren’t limited to technology companies. The knowledge developed through these subjects has applications across finance, healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, science, business, entertainment and many other industries.
Your subjects. Your direction.
At BOA Digital, we want you to think beyond simply
“Which subjects should I choose?”
Think about what interests you, what you’re good at and where those subjects could eventually take you.
Choose subjects that connect. Develop skills that matter. Build a pathway that gives you options.
